World Peanut Meeting 2024: the latest peanut market trends and technology innovations in the sector
The project involved organizing World Peanut Meeting 2024, an international conference held in the province of Córdoba to analyze the main global trends in the peanut market and the technology innovations shaping the sector.
Summary
The Cluster Maní de Córdoba, represented by the Cámara Argentina del Maní, organized the World Peanut Meeting 2024, a top-tier international conference that positioned Córdoba as the world's leading venue for peanut industry gatherings. Argentina, and Córdoba in particular, lead global production of confectionery peanuts, and the event built on that position to bring together opinion leaders and traders from the world's most important markets.
The program was built around three complementary components. Market and technology conferences: two days at the Hotel Quinto Centenario in Córdoba city with confirmed high-level international speakers, including Zhang Peng (scientist and executive at the JLA China laboratory), Saravanan Lokasundaram (Agrocrops Hong Kong, a leader in East Asia), Sergey Khaesh (Agroimpex, market leader in Russia) and Andreas Snyman (GWK Innovative Agriculture, South Africa), along with representatives from the United States, Brazil, India and the European Union. Technology expo: booths from Argentine and international companies showcasing the sector's latest technologies and innovative services. Technical visit to Gral. Deheza: a day touring peanut fields and plants, organized with the Circuito del Maní, featuring live demonstrations of the Argentine cluster's advanced technology and sustainability initiatives.
The direct beneficiaries were 20 members of the Cluster Maní Córdoba, 35 associate members of the Cámara Argentina del Maní and other companies and institutions in the sector. Beyond its international positioning impact, the event provided strategic input for redefining the cluster's Strategic Plan based on the global trends identified. 791,391 (ARS 5M non-refundable grant + ARS 13.83M actual co-funding + ARS 960K in kind).
