The AgTech Cluster, based in Río Cuarto and represented by Bioetanol Río Cuarto SA, carried out this founding strategic planning project to build its initial roadmap (2024–2025) and align its 24 members around a shared vision for technology-based agriculture. The starting point was clear: the cluster needed to put each member's vision, challenges and potential on the table in order to establish Río Cuarto as a regional agtech hub.
The work was commissioned from a specialized external consultancy and organized into five sequential milestones over 3 months. Aligning expectations: a briefing between the consultancy and the cluster's directors (July 2024). Validating the line-up: a meeting between the consultancy and the cluster manager to set the agenda, topics and logistics. In-person session with the steering group: facilitated exercises in August 2024 to begin capturing the leadership team's vision. Extended in-person session with all cluster members: working exercises to keep building a shared vision, followed by a satisfaction survey. Closing meeting (September 2024): presentation of the final deliverable to all members.
The cluster's 24 members include private companies, public institutions, government agencies and universities, representing the main links in the agtech value chain in Río Cuarto and its region. The expected impact was twofold: internal (member retention, a unified vision and alignment around common goals) and external (establishing Río Cuarto as a regional agtech leader for the technology-based agriculture value chain).
Map out the founding strategic plan for the Río Cuarto AgTech Cluster, defining its mission, vision and value proposition through a participatory process led by an external consultancy that gathers the individual views of its 24 members, identifies the challenges and potential of each player in the value chain, and consolidates a 2024–2025 roadmap with concrete actions to position Río Cuarto as a regional hub for technology-based agriculture.
